Sauros is an open, south-facing canyon bathed in sunlight, set in a stunning alpine landscape where water flows over pale gneiss rock creating beautiful light effects.
The route features 12 rope abseils — mostly closely spaced — with a maximum drop of 36 metres.
A technical itinerary requiring constant use of the rope: no jumps, but a couple of fun natural toboggan runs. The final section offers a spectacular sequence of linked waterfall abseils.
Best tackled in spring or after rainfall, when water levels are most impressive.
